Gold Melody Boy
He has a multitude of Golden Palominos in his pedigree. This stallion's photo's show a
horse of tremendous type, elegance, and balance. Gold Melody Boy was owned by Lloyd and Zola Johnston. Several horses sired by GMB were registered with an unknown sire and dam because at that time, it was not cool for a miniature to be related to a shetland.Unfortunately as interest began to grow in his line, most of their offspring were in their late teens and the Gold Melody Boy bloodline was on the verge of decline into oblivion until noticed and appreciated by admirers of the quality it represented. This line has emerged from relative obscurity to become one of the most sought after bloodlines in the miniature world today. Our two stallions Tompkins Silverado and Tompkins Pacman are sired by the smallest stallion (Johnston's Gold Boy) that Gold Melody Boy sired. Radiant Leon's sire, Hesitation Leon was sired by JOLLY BOY POLK, a Red Roan, born 1936, Jolly Boy sired a mare named BONNIE BRIDE, she is the dam of HILLSWICK ORACLE (purchased by Vern Brewer in 1959 for $35,000) and the great grand sire of ROWDY. in 1983 AMHA National Show BOONE'S LITTLE BUCKEROO was named National Grand Champion Senior Stallion, he is a grandson of GOLD MELODY BOY.

	Lightning Bug #37026 Palomino - 43" He was a striking Palomino with a strip and hind socks. He was bred to GINNS MELODY, Sorrel mare with a blaze and three socks, who was rich in the Larigo breeding, another successful line of champions. This cross produced on June l9, 1962, a GOLDEN PALOMINO, named GOLD MELODY BOY.
Realization #24302 - 1944-1955 Although Realization only lived 11 short years, he was the foundation head of the dynasty of the highest Quality Palomino line during the Shetland heyday (app. 1948-1961). 43 years after his death another "Gold RUsh" has taken place through one of his grand-get, Gold Melody Boy. He was the sire of Lightning Bug and My Golden Toy.

MY GOLDEN TOY

38" sired by Realization,
sold for over $50,000 dollars in 1960.
In 1952, as a two year old MY GOLDEN TOY won GRAND CHAMPION
STALLION honors, at the 1952 OHIO State Fair. By 1958,
foals by MY GOLDEN TOY we selling for $5000.00 as weanlings,
one of these stallions was HASHA GOLDEN COMET,
a Golden Palomino, who's photo we have been unable
to find after 10 years of searching.

Woodstock North has one grand daughter of My Golden Toy and
two great grand daughters of My Golden Toy.

Silver Crescent

Foaled on June 2, 1915. Bred by Earl Dixon, he was by Orloff. Silver Crescent amassed 300 blue ribbons in his illustrious show career. This Dapple Chestnut with a white mane and tail contributed greatly to the mid century dapple craze that is once again so popular.

Orloff

Earl M. Dixon purchased Orloff #11576 in 1910.
The Orloff/Dixon duo would do much to make Silver Dapples highly popular in the Shetland Industry.

King Larigo

The immortal King Larigo #8778 was foaled at Heyh Pony farm in Washington, Illinois on June 5, 1907. During his career, King Larigo captured 896 first place and championships. this great sire made a marked impact on the American Shetland Industry. In 1912 King Larigo was featured in Shetlands first true six pony hitch and King Larigo was on of the lead ponies.



	These very famous stallions are all instrumental in the bloodlines of the Gold Melody Boy Pedigree.
